Passionate Passive Solar Home

The Owners of this Passive Solar Home were passionate about building for others with Habitat for Humanity, & wanted to actively participate in the construction of their own house as well.
Green Building technologies, passive solar design, & plenty of sweat equity have completed this Chapel Hill Home.
We designed windows & overhangs on the south side that would allow warm sunlight to enter during winter, but would remain cool & shaded during summer.
A thick Concrete Slab floor captures warmth & releases it slowly. Radiant heat, high R values on the insulation, & thoughtful design details will make this an environmentally friendly & economically easy home to live in.
